CrystalLakeTexas.com is dedicated to preserving the history of Crystal Lake — the most beloved swimming hole in East Texas. Located in the Piney Woods of Joaquin, Texas, Crystal Lake is a place that holds lifelong memories for hundreds of families who lived and grew up in this area for decades.
From the “tops” you could stand on, to the amazing trolley (that still stands!), Crystal Lake provided family fun for generations. A locals' favorite, owned by the Whiddon family of Joaquin for four generations.
This website is maintained by Kari Plunkett Mitchell and Rodney Whiddon, with Whiddon family permission. All stories and memories submitted will be shared with the family.
